Chapel window

Like many churches, First Baptist has beautiful stained glass. We are particularly grateful for our chapel's Rose Window. When the early morning light streams through the window, it is a near transcendent experience as you sit in the darkened chapel. We invite you to come early to worship, sit in the chapel and meditate, and let this rose window help you in your devotions and prayers.

Mayfest & Community Partnering

First Baptist is a "best kept secret" on Main Street, and we'd like to change that! Located on the busy main thoroughfare of Bennington, the church is an ideal gathering place for various community groups, meetings, and events. Our rates are quite low, as we hope to involve the building more in the life of the community. Here's an example of a recent community partnership: The Better Bennington Corp. hosts MayFest, an annual crafts and family day over Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed the opportunity to help host several food vendors and provide a nice shady place for folks to sit and enjoy Indian food, German sausage, fresh lobster, and even a hamburger or two.

Sanctuary

The First Baptist congregation gathers each Sunday morning in a wonderful worship space. Our sanctuary seats just over three hundred. We have excellent acoustics and a Wicks organ, considered one of the finer pipe organs in town. Join us on Sundays and enjoy worship in this sanctuary!

Signboard

Our signboard features weekly events as well as a beautiful bed of flowers. Each Spring, our church members and the sexton plant various flowers to beautify our front lawn. We hope that passersby will be encouraged to join us for worship as well as experience the beauty of Creation.
